Omg, how I so loved , and enjoy( past & present) x 100 lol this movie! All the characters are amazing. Thank goodness for the movie, The Runaways, with Cherie Curry’s character played by Dakota Fanning singing his hypnotic, haunting, soothing, exotic song, ‘Lady Grinning Soul.’( plz listen if you haven’t). I just discovered Ziggy a few months ago by of course the runaways, and since then; i have been hooked. I’m 21yrs old( ppl say I look 13), and I grew up on movies such as The Never ending Story, so to see this movie is a long awaited refresher.( better than tangled in my opinion lol). To be frank, I think Sarah is dumb for what she did, but I think we all would have done what she did. I mean we all want Lancelot to comfort us, but we do at some point or another pass it on to our own Toby’s. I do feel sorry sometimes for Jareth. He seemed hurt, he wanted love.He couldn’t love the goblins, he loved(it seemed) Sarah and Toby.( in his own twisted way) Overall, he was neutral. He just didn’t say, i’m taking you to my castle end of story. no. He gave her 13 hours. He needed her to keep him alive, he needed to live within her, but he can’t love without her heartbeat. I agree with Molly…who did Jareth take the place of, and was Toby going to be the new Heir? It sure wasn’t Hoggle or the goblins. Did Jareth come as a Toby himself, and did he really want to be the Goblin King?…also, whats the signification of the enubla( the place where you put ppl to forget about them)?….Anyway, great movie, great cast! I listen to the soundtrack all day! Bowie is the creme de la creme of a perfect musician/ Actor! Bowie is the man. If a guy said to me looking like Jareth, “Fear me, love me, do as I say, and I will be your slave.” I would be his Goblin Queen in a minute, but that can’t happen….only in my dreams!!

I so love the movie, first saw it when I was young around 5 years old and so and watching it over and over until now with my daugther who’s 2 years old. Jareth and Sarah’s romance might have influence me marrying a man 12 years older than me

Oui, oui, oui…those pants, definitely gave me plenty to think about in my teens!! I think that’s where my desire for all things Bowie developed, he just DOES something for me with the outfit & the hair (& the magic too). I love the soundtrack for this movie too, sing along for hours.

david bowie as jareth i think the movie was amasing david bowie is a creative acter and singer but i think as the goblin king it is really amasing how when david bowie sings within you it is amasing how he goes upsidedown david bowie is my favorite singer and acter

i got the idea that jareth could want toby as an heir to his throne. think about it: he never smiles around his goblin subjects unless he’s kicking them. but he always smiles around toby, and goes so far as to play with him. he makes sure that toby has bottles on the ready, and says, “I think i’ll call him Jareth. He’s got my eyes.” he is gloating over his recent capture, but he’s also speaking in a fatherly way. think about it.

Jareth has always been my favorite character. I like the idea that there are lands beyond the areas Sarah explores, and that Jareth is an exiled King. Think about it…the Goblin City is pretty crummy. He’s the only non-goblin there, and everything is in ruin or bordering on ruin. He has chickens in his throne room for goodness sake! Maybe he was exiled and then built up the loyalty of the goblins? There’s no basis for that, of course.
